Big Bang is the kickoff for a week of awesome events showcasing
our college. Come enjoy free food & t-shirts, learn about twelve of our CNS
organizations, as well as what will be going on the rest of the week. We will also
have demos throughout the event, courtesy of the Chemistry Department. Special
thanks to Dr. Biberdorf for her help!

What is Neuroscience? What kind of research is being done in
neuroscience? What's the difference between neuroscience and neurobiology? Come
check out NSC's Neuroscience Brain Tank!
- Featuring: a talk by Dr. Michael Drew of the Center for Learning and Memory, professors Dr. Michael Drew, Dr. Adron Harris, Dr. Kristen Harris, Dr. Jon Pierce-Shimomura, Dr. Laura Colgin, Dr. Mike Mauk, Dr. Dan Johnston, Synapse, and Undergraduate Neuroscience Journal Club discussing their exciting research.
Come talk to one of the researchers and look at real human
brains! Please feel free to come and go as you are able.

Star Party – 7-10pm – RLM 4.102 & RLM rooftop
At Star Party, we're bringing the wonders of the universe to
you! Start off the night with Dr. Steven Finkelstein, who will guide to us a
greater understanding of black holes and life as an astronomer. Following the
talk, enjoy some Jersey Mike's and physics demos, or some popcorn and Mars
Attacks! (One of the most, ah,
memorable sci-fi movies of our time.) And of course, be sure to enjoy the
ambiance and the night skies from RLM's rooftop -- home of UT's largest
telescope and the most breathtaking view on campus.

Food, Fashion, and Family – 6-8pm – Gearing Courtyard
Food Catered by central market! Student designed apparel and
garment sketches along with a color wheel will be displayed for Textiles and
Apparel to educate the college about textiles. Texas Nutrition will have
research as well as an interactive game where students place their typical meal
on a tray and TX NTR analyzes the nutrient density and suggests possible
healthy alternatives. HDFS will actually be bringing a basin for the
"sensory" activities children at the development school next to the
SSB often use to help with their neural and cognitive development.

to Research – 3:30-5:30pm – Avaya Auditorium
Roads to Research is a yearly event where we present how current researchers got into research, as well as resources for getting into research. We will have a grad student panel, Dean Vanden Bout will speak, and at the end there will be tables representing various organizations and resources that are helpful to aspiring researchers. We will also have free food and giveaways!
